Soto-shū’s grand head temple Soji-ji Temple, Main hall, Hengaku (plaque) ‘ Daiyu-Hōden’, ‘Chingo-Kokka’, restored and placed.

We repaired and placed Hengaku (plaques) ‘Daiyu-Hōden’ and ‘Chin-go Kokka’ in the Main hall of Soto-shū Head Temple Sōji-ji.

Hengaku (plaque) ‘Daiyu-Hōden’ on the exterior of the architecture: 14.5 Shaku x 5.0 Shaku. After cleaning the entire surface, the colour of the characters was restored to the original gold leaf finish.

After cleaning the entire surface, the colour of the characters was corrected to ultramarine blue and gold leaf was applied to the paulownia pattern.

Hengaku (plaque) ‘Daiyūhōden’ (right) and Shumidan in the Main hall of Sōji-ji Temple, the grand head temple of the Soto-shū, are being repaired at the Suiundo Matsudo workshop.
