The Golden Room, which was constructed by Suiundo about 35 years ago, has been transferred to Suiundo, and will be open to the public as the ‘Golden Room’ in December.

The walls were created by lavishly sprinkling pure gold powder directly onto them. The raised ceiling is finished with gold leaf. At that time, the price of gold was less than 1,500 yen per gram (excluding tax),which is about 8,400 yen including tax today, so a project that uses this much pure gold powder would be difficult to carry out today, not only because of the price, but also because of the difficulty of securing pure gold powder.
