At the Suiundo workshop, the wooden base for a 13-shaku Shumidan altar has been completed and will now be finished with Urushi lacquer by nushi(lacquer painter)The wooden base is secured with a traditional Shachi-tsugi(lapped rod mortise and tenon joint) joint made from Hime-komatsu(Japanese white pine).The lacquer base is made of kataji (hard base) with a Roiro-urushi finish, and a 2.5-shaku-tall Fudō Myōō (Shitsushitsuza) will be enshrined on it.
